Video games come with ratings now just like movies do. The ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) gives each game a rating depending on what it contains. You can see the description of each pictured rating here.
The only picture that’s not shown is RP, which is Rating Pending. If you go to their main page here you can type in a title or publisher and look up what a specific game is rated and why. You can also see what games certain publishers have available and the ratings for their games.
I love to use this website before I go and buy a game. Not all T games will have the same things in them same as E or M games. For instance games with a lot of gore and blood are normally rated M. You might be okay with the blood and gore but not want to buy a game that has nudity or drug use in it.
This website is invaluable when you care about the content of your games for yourself and your children. Sit down together with your child before buy a game and really understand what they’re getting themselves into. Read reviews, check the ratings and spend time with them while they play. It’s a great way to spend time together.
